Junior SteadyHands Riding Gloves

How They Work
Junior SteadyHands gloves apply the same scientific principles as our best-selling SteadyHands gloves, including proprioception (body awareness), resistance training and biomechanics.
The unique positioning of the SteadyHands band across the gloves is the key that allows riders to feel how to correctly engage the upper and lower arm muscles, as well as wrists and fingers.
The feedback and reviews of hundreds of riders and coaches all over the world is definitive - SteadyHands riding gloves really make a difference to hand position and contact.
With regular use, riders' improved hand position and contact feel becomes the "new normal", and sets them up with good habits for life.
Safety is assured through the quick-release clip, so riders' hands are always free to move apart if needed or with a loss of balance.

I like that they keep your hands nice and quiet. It makes a huge difference. The gloves themselves are lovely to wear too. They come apart quite easily in case if necessary which I liked. I didn’t like that it pushed my hands wrong. My thumbs keep facing down when I’m using them. I’ve used them a lot to give them a good trial.
Hi Miranda, thanks for your feedback - glad to hear they are working in some ways, and let's see if we can help you make sure they work for your hand position too! You can try attaching the strap underneath the hands instead, some riders find that this helps them to keep their thumbs facing up. The other thing to try is to really try to push the hands apart when using them (with the strap) - this will feel weird at first, but will activate the right muscles (and brain pathways) to help keep your thumbs up. Feel free to get in touch for more support :)
My 11yo daughter’s hand position has really improved after using these gloves for around 6 months. The Velcro did come undone easily on our first pair of gloves, but customer service was super attentive and quick to replace, and we’ve continued our riding journey with another pair of these gloves. No magic, the strap just helps and reminds you of your hand position in a comfortable and safe way. Congrats for the idea! We will certainly be looking out for your new products.
Thank you for your positive feedback Tammy! We are glad to know that our Junior SteadyHands Riding Gloves have helped improve your daughter's hand position. We apologize for the issue with the Velcro on your first pair, but we are happy to hear that our customer service team was able to assist and provide a replacement. Happy riding!
Junior SteadyHands Riding Gloves
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, Suzanne. Happy riding!
The gloves work well and have helped my son with his positioning and he likes wearing them. However they are so small! We got the large children’s size for my 9 year old and I have to squeeze him into them. I should have sent back, but given they are from Oz I didn’t think it possible. Basically, great product but to much much bigger than you would think.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our Junior SteadyHands Riding Gloves Kelly. We are glad to hear that they have been helpful for your son's positioning and that he enjoys wearing them.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the size being too small. We would like to assure you that we do offer free size exchanges and would be more than happy to assist you with finding the perfect fit for your son. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our customer service team for assistance.

- The resistance bands limits the range of hand movement
"Pram"/"piano"/downwards facing hands
- Engages arm, shoulder and back muscles to correct this common fault
- Use regularly to overcome the habit
Hands too wide

- Builds new muscle memory of correct distance
Hands too low
- Encourages bent elbows which leads to better hand carriage
- Usually goes hand in hand with hands too wide
Overreliance on reins
- Limits/brings awareness to use of the reins
- Invites rider to use legs and/or seat instead
Hands moving around too much
- Gives significantly greater awareness of hand movements
- Engages the correct muscles to keep hands more steady
Hands not working as a pair
